
This was drawn for Fortean Times, and is one of my favourite drawings.
You know the story, of course. In Mediaeval times the French, when they could catch them, would cut off two fingers of the deadly English archers, rendering them unable to shoot. At Agincourt the cheeky Brits would wave their fingers arrogantly at the Froggies, letting them know they were still active, before unleashing another volley of arrows.
